Surprise!

I love Blue. Not just because "it was the colour" for the last couple years. Because it is lovely.

This recent project blended the colour blue the client was drawn to and taking existing elements from their recent renovation.

The flooring is a lovely beige that runs the entire main floor.
The kitchen features a marble countertop and white backsplash.
All it needed was colour and applied to the foundation to give it a grounding feel.

I dont know where the idea to "toss in a few coloured pillows" and call it finished came from?

Yes, it adds colour but its not layered or cohesive.

The wall colour is much bolder in my digital design than the clients actually went for. I suggested a lighter saturation and they considered going really deep but in the end they went for Silver Springs by Benjamin Moore.

I wanted to incorporate the medium wood colour trend that I am seeing. It is a nice balance. Some weight to the colour but not heavy that dark wood casts.

Lots of neutral furnishings too. The sofa I selected is white and features an armless end which is perfect as the space needed to feel welcoming. An arm would visually stop and I wanted the owners and guests to come in the front door and walk over to the sitting area.

The clients are putting the finishing touches on this design and will have after pictures to share. Reveal coming soon.
